SEVEN-YEAR-OLD BOY WINS NATIONAL COLORING CONTEST

Seven-year-old Johnny Smith from Anytown, USA has been named the winner of the National Coloring Contest sponsored by the American Art Association. Johnny's winning entry was selected from over 10,000 submissions from children across the country.

Johnny's artwork, a vibrant and detailed depiction of a dinosaur, will be featured in an upcoming children's book. The book, "The Adventures of Dino," will be published by ABC Publishing and is expected to hit shelves in the fall.

"We are thrilled to have Johnny's artwork featured in our book," said ABC Publishing editor Sarah Jones. "His imagination and creativity are truly inspiring, and we know that children of all ages will enjoy his work."

Johnny was presented with his award at the annual Children's Art Expo, which was held in New York City last weekend. He received a $1,000 scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago and a set of professional art supplies.

"I love to draw and color," said Johnny. "I'm so happy that I won the contest." Johnny's parents, John and Mary Smith, said they are proud of their son's accomplishments. "He's a very talented artist," said John. "We're so excited for him to see his artwork published in a book."

The National Coloring Contest is an annual event that encourages children to express their creativity through art. The contest is open to children ages 5 to 12. The winning artwork is selected by a panel of professional artists and educators.
