The Return of a Comedy Classic

Netflix announced on Wednesday via a post on Twitter that a sequel to Happy Gilmore is in the works, featuring Adam Sandler back in his iconic role. The 1996 golf comedy follows the story of Happy Gilmore, a former hockey player who discovers his talent for golf and uses it to win a tournament to save his grandmother's house.

Sandler Returns to the Green

Sandler is set to reprise his role as the titular character in Happy Gilmore 2. The actor has starred in numerous comedies over the years, including The Wedding Singer, Big Daddy, and Grown Ups.

New Cast Additions

In addition to Sandler, the sequel will feature a number of new cast members. Julie Bowen (Modern Family) has been cast as Happy's love interest, and Christopher McDonald (Thelma & Louise) will play his nemesis Shooter McGavin.
